Twitter for eCommerce Shopping Carts

Every online store should have at least three twitter accounts.

  2. Customer Service
  3. Blog & Video Content

Sales & Promotions

Short piffy messages promoting future sales campaigns. The Twitter Product CardThe Product Card is a great way to represent product and retail items on Twitter. This Card type is designed to showcase your products via an image, a description, and allow you to highlight two other key details about your product. You should use the Summary Card With Large Image with every tweet because you get a 35% boost in possible click-through conversions!

Customer Service

Be active in your customer support and establish an official support Twitter account. Your Twitter policy should include a branded hashtag. You type the # character followed by a keyword term. An example could be #strikehawk The use of hashtags allows you to follow both brand mentions and keyword listings in your favorite social network management tool.

Blog & Video Content

Much of what Mr. Enge and his guests talked about in this video hangout should be applied in this account. Your software should be coded to handle blog content with special markup for Twitter when someone shares that content on Twitter using summary with big image. Video cards are handled differently. Just share the YouTube URL with your 128 character comment. The Twitter user will be presented with a miniature video player.
